What unusual [non-Boss] pedals do Bossfreaks own and love? The odder looking/sounding, the better.
I'll start us off with this strange 80's Pearl phaser:
Horrible bypass circuit (messes with the clean guitar level), worringly vulnerable-looking footswitches, and far too big to comfortably fit on a pedalboard of sane dimensions, but gives great phase - and it pre-dates the Boss Twin-pedal series by a few decades...

First of all nice Phaser, any chance or some internal pics?
My dig. camera is S-t-i-l-l... At the service shop, don't bother asking me, about the story.
Soon as I get it back i will post a few pics of a very old, early generation Morley Digital Tuner I have.
The graphics on the case, are worth buying the pedal for.
It uses the older seven segment, calculator style LED readouts.

Probably better off keeping a pedal like that in a stereo effects loop so you don't have to keep turning it on and off to save the switches and then it doesn't mess with clean signal either in bypass.. i love these old analogue pedals..i would say it sounds massive in stereo.... defo a keeper even if you don't use it..... |

I have this old analog Arion SAD-1 delay that I love, it's great for bluesy slapback echoes.
While not so peculiar looking, it's a fragile plastic box and it has some weird power issues.
Then another pedal I use frequently is a custom build Bass screamer.
Basically a tubescreamer modified for bass with an added blend control and a boost circuit.
I did the artwork myself, those are Japanese characters for "Bass" and "Scream".
Oh by the way, did I mention my love for Morley wah pedals?

I'm actually purging all my non-Boss (except my V847) pedals.. and I don't think my ZOOM PD-01 and TM-01 (on its way out) are weird.. but I do have this:
I call it.. THE BLANKBOX. It has the truest bypass of them all. No wires needed! No jacks or pots to corrode or break. No PCB! No components! Use it with acoustic or electric - even Banjo and Sitar will benefit from the BLANKBOX. |

Haha - I'll take some internal shots as soon as it returns from the repair shop! The internal power regulation, one of the switches and one LED went down a loooong time ago, and i finally got around to having her repaired - Getting a little over-excited waiting for the return, and thought i'd start this thread... |

pretty much a big box...loves it...
had this thing for years, really pretty, can't tell from the shite pic but it sparkles...
i don't actually have the dist.+ but i have an analog delay from the same 2000 series in a similar box...really cool, old school sounds... |

...Whoa I thought I was the only guy that had one of those old early 80's MXR Dist.+ Series 2000's...that pedal sounds awesome...I use it for soloing when i'm runnin my Marshall...very Zak Wylde esque...I prefer it over an old script Dist.+ |

| hate to break your heart brute supreme but i have the 2000 series Delay...just couldn't find the pic of it so i used the Dist. Plus...i actually really dig the casing of the 2000 series...built like a tank...and after talking up the Dist. Plus i might have to find one now... |

I've never been able to track this brand down - anybody seen one before?
I probably bought it second hand in the mid / late '70s and it's still a great treble booster now. I used to run it through a fully cranked channel on a solid state WEM Copycat (echo not switched in) into an HH solid state 2x12 combo - harsh but right for the time. Use it now through a Marshall JVM for messing around and it rocks - on/off switch is a pain though. Here are some internals - looks a bit like a Rangermaster but I'm no expert, I just know it sounds good:
I'd really like to find out a bit more about this one. I've got some more oddities that I'll bang up on the forum soon.

You prompted my memory - I'm not sure if it's a Rangemaster clone or a copy of the Hornby Skewes Treble Booster - I have got a thumbnail pic of the internals of the Hornby Skewes and they look similar to my untrained eye - but the pic is far too small to post - maybe someone else has seen that circuit and can comment?
