Howdy Boss-tonians, I have recently aquired a DM-2B. It performs the delay funtions as described but it has to be coaxed or willed into the self oscillation thing. If I dime the echo and intensity knobs then twiddle with the repeat knob between 3:00-5:00 I can get it to feedback sometimes. Self oscillation is not an effect that I'm going to use but I'm thinking here about the strength of the effect. When I popped the hood to see what year it was I noticed that it had a burnt smell. I have owned a few vintage pedals and none have had this odor. I did not touch the internal trim pots. My questions are:1) Is the DM-2B perhaps weaker or less prone to the self oscillation effect than previous versions? 2) If not can any of you suggest a repair or check out option? Just as a note when I was a kid I had a DM-2 that would do the described trick violently. Thanks
I'm sure someone mentioned here that the B version don't oscillate that easily but I couldn't find the thread. Maybe I'm imagining things. If your DM-2 echoes properly there probably isn't anything wrong with it even if it doesnt' oscillate.
I do have an Analogman Bi-comprossor in my chain, I may have had it on when I was trying to get that effect but I can't recall, I'll try again. The delay is brilliant. I was just kinda in that getting to know you phase with the pedal and thought I'd ask. Thank yall for responding.
