On a local advertisement site a guy offers an OD-1 for sale, one of the pictures shows the serial which is 798257, according the serial number database this pedal should be produced june 1987, isn't that impossible?
I had a similar situation here..A few days ago I contacted a local guy with a OD-1 for sale. I asked for the serial number, and the number he supplied indicated 1987 built date. I asked him to double check the number since it didn't seem right, but he double checked and the ser. number he first supplied was indeed right..I'm curious to hear an explanation on this issue too..
The OD-1 was made up until at least the end of 1988 so this isn't so unexpected. The main OD-1 page displays the dates given in "the Boss book" and for the OD-1 and CE-2 these are off by many years.

Ok, that explains it..But why not fix the info on the main page?

Because a lot people would post and say the information conflicts with the official information from Roland. On the CE-2 page I have added a note to say that the information is wrong but still included the official dates. I planned to do something similar on the OD-1 page but wanted to research the end of production a bit more first. After a while I simply forgot about it. I'll see if I can get the page updated
