i just got the new Haunted CD as i am an At The Gates fan. well, its not horrible, but i really dislike it when a good solid metal band just "loses it".

i also think CD's should be no more than 10 bucks a piece. the metal CDs in my area are 20 and above. (30 for the Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, and all the imports)

The only relatively well known band that don't charge over 10$ (by choice) for CD's are Fugazi, mainly due to Ian Mackaye having such a huge chip on his shoulder, but in the UK we don't get the benefit of it.

Hi bossare & Guys

We technically it's not CD's
But I have been listening to to some tracks on MySpace pages.

This evening whaile I was here on the Forum,
I found a UK based artist called:
Alex Canadine
http://www.myspace.com/alexcanadine

There are (4) nice tracks with a diverse feel.
Santa Monica - is a nice acoustic mix with some heavier overtones.
Have a listen, I do while typing here.

I have also been listening to Nibla's tracks on MySpace
http://myspace.com/leshommesverts

And Not to forget Shortpunks in Love tracks on MySpace
http://myspace.com/shortpunksinlove

Both are active members of this forum.

Nice work guys.

Regards Dr. Bob

Just discovered Vanilla Fudge,
I've been playing a greatest hits CD a lot lately.
It's just my type of music, I'd just never discovered them before.
A lot of the songs are dripping in overdriven Hammond, great stuff. I think many of them are covers, but brilliant nonetheless. To me they sound like a mixture of early Zappa, Turtles & Deep Purple.

Everything else on my iPod is old favourites - such as Wishbone Ash 'Argus', Iron Maiden 'Killers', Genesis 'Live 73', Scorpions 'Fly to the Rainbow' - I should really listen to more new bands.

'Rumplestiltskin Grinder' sounds interesting, I used to buy metal albums in the 80's based on the funniest songtitles I could find, - I got many duds but also found a few gems. Good to know bands are still thinking up the outrageous titles, well in fact I know some bands have gone beyond funny these days but I prefer the humourous ones

A new CD that has been spinning a lot is Carla Torgerson Saint Strange, shes in normal life singer/guitarist in Walkabouts (also a great group).
I have also had a period of Tom Verlaine, played all of his solo efforts on vinyl and CD, this is really great music and he has a terrific guitar sound, clean Jazzmaster.
Comets on Fires latest ia also very good with nearly irritating fuzzed guitars.

I have been listening lately Dead Can Dance, no electric guitar involved, ja.

I mentioned it before but it really worth to mention again. There is a mexican group La Barranca, led by this guitar player Jose Manuel Aguilera. They are very very good. What I really like about Aguilera's guitar is that he uses different sounds and effects along the CD, and he knows how to use them.

Grace Jones - Slave to the Rhythm
I'm not generally a fan of GJ but I love the rhythm track on this album. It's more Rob'n'Raz than Grace Jones.

Johnny Winter - Captured Live
From Winter's rockier period. Well played but not the best live sound ever.

Wolfmother - Wolfmother
Australian 70s rock from 2006. I wish they hadn't worked so hard on the authentic 70s sound though.
