This is common with "Ink Pad" Serial Numbered pedals. as they were really Month-Batch or Batch-Month numbers, And not sequential serial numbers. So it's very common to see pedals with the same 4 digit Ink Pad S/N.
Bossarea will probably be able clarify this even more for you.
From reading this forum, I believe the earlier serial numbers were more a 'batch number' than a serial number, meaning many early pedals of the same type will share the same serial number.
Nice!!! Feb. 78? Early Boss pedals such as this drop dead SP-1 have black painted bottom plates. Does anyone know how long they did this? My SP-1's are 6400 and 6500, Nov. And Dec. 77, and my TW-1 Touch Wah is Apr. 78. They have it and I think I saw a Jul. 78 SP-1 with it. Wonder when they stopped!
