Today I went to a german fleamarket just to kill some time but what the f**k... that looks like a boss ce-1, eh...
me: Excuse me sir does this thing work ?
man:Yes I think so but I don't know what it is.
me:Mmmm I think it for guitars or something how much do you want for it ?
man: 50 euros or is that to much ?
me: ehhhhh.........
man: 30 and it's yours.
me: well okay Sold, bye !!!!!
So it still can happen with a bit of luck.

Awesome. I'm still kicking myself for not bidding on a US voltage CE-1 on the local ebay a few months ago that went for something like $180 (US$140) which is less than half the going rate on a 240v model here. I'd just assumed someone would bid big in the final seconds  |

I got mine for free a few years ago, a friend's friend had just got a brand new multi-effect and he though that his CE1 was total shit compared to his multi-effect...
I said "you're right!"
And then I said "thanks!"

I once bought a Yamaha SK-20, semi-cheesy 80s organ/stringsynth. Found it through an internet ad, pretty cheap (200 euro).
The guy said; I'll throw in a "stereo effect" that I've been using with the synth as well. Don't need it now and it sound great with the synth.
I asked what the make was, and he said Boss. I hardly dared to ask any more...but what I got was a mint condition CE-1 (plastic under knobs!) virtually for free! (I was going to buy the synth anyway).
Didn't keep it though - someone else had more us for it...but after I'd sold the CE-1 and later also the SK-20 I had made a pretty penny to spend on other pedals!!!
Oh, and the strings on the SK-20 sounded amazing through the CE1!
Som other time I'll tell you about the time I found a new, in box, VB2 at a music store, for 50 euro...they DID NOT know what they had there. (VB2s may be rare in the rest of the world, but SUPER rare in Sweden.) |
