I know it's been covered by a few in the "favorite Boss pedal" thread, but what was your first Boss pedal?
Even though I drooled over the glass display case for Boss pedals in the music shop where I grew up, I didn't actually buy one until a few years later, but mine was the HM2. |

| my first BOSS pedal is the MT-2. I just want to have a try on a stompbox pedal and hear how it sounds. and after using the MT-2 for a while, maaan.. i bought another five (i own 6 different ones now) and sold my multieffect pedal :) and i think i've never made a better decision in my life about that one.. took me a while though to figure out what each knob in the MT-2 does. |

| The first one for me was a OD-1, bought it ca 1980. It was soon followed by CS-1 and a second hand CE-1. Of course I sold all of them in the 80s ...... |

| I bought the OD-1 about 1982. The spring was really soft compared to all pedals I've seen since. When I sold it it was still almost mint. It had one skuff that I had made an attempt to drop fill with yellow paint. That didn't work out too well. I've regretted selling it for more than 20 years now. |

Actually, my first was a beat-up OD-1. I'd only had a zoom multi before, but now i found the OD-1. It was sweet.
I've had plenty since, but only a few have stayed with me. |

My first one was the DF-2 Super Distortion & Feedbacker - I traded a TS-9 for it in late '84. Young and stupid, I suppose.

| Bought a CE-2 (made 1979, silver screw) used back in 1984. It was my very first pedal and it has seen a lot of other pedals come and go in my rig. But the CE-2 is here to stay! |

I started off with a DS-2 about six years ago. Promptly sold it tho cos the distortion was way too much for the stuff I played. Shortly after, I met up with a guy to buy a PH-2( which I also later sold).
Anyway, he brought along what looked like a beat up old pedal and told me he would throw it in with the PH-2 for an extra 5. He never used it cos "it was an old analogue pedal that wasn't good for much". Turns out it was a DM-2! It was the first pedal I bought and didn't sell and I still have it to this day. |

| The first Boss pedal I got was the CEB-3 for a song I was playing in my high school battle of the bands. I was playing "The Tree's" by Rush and needed the authenticity of a chorus sound. |

Boss OC-2 I tried out a OC-3 in a music shop and thought "this thing is just mint!" I giggled and played around with the OC-3 for over an hour.
I found a used OC-2 a little later in the month and snapped it up straight away. The thing is completely unmarked.
After 10 minutes use it now sits on a shelf or occasionally get to come out of retirement to hold my Practice room door open.
Not that its bad pedal. I just have no use for it in the current styles of music I play..... One day |

I've found that too. The OC-2 and 3 are really good fun but it's very limited what you can use them for. In a band situation, you can hardly use them at all. |

I agree with that. I bought an OC2 mainly because it was one of the early "Octaver" versions rather than the more common "Octave" ones. It was the marked at the same price as I would have paid for a new pedal, but I was able to combine the purchase with a silver screw CE2 and got the price on both knocked down a fair bit and decided to go for it. It's been used a total of about 20 minutes since I bought it. |
