| Does anyone know where I can get factory knobs? I'm looking into buying a HM-2, and it's got a knob missing, and since it's one of those fance orange ones, it may be a little more difficult. Also, where could I find the right pots, and the four way switch found in the DD-2. |

Roland has always been very helpful when I've called them. Other posters have had different experiences so it sounds like their service differs a bit from country to country.
You can usually also go to your local music store and ask them for parts. They will order them from Roland and it may be cheaper for you as you don't have to pay shipping and handling.
The 3rd option is Ebay. Some sellers have knobs available but you could easily end up with the wrong type. For pots, rotary switches, thumb screws and grommets, Roland seems to be the best source though. |

I never buy pedals if theyre missing any parts, no matter how good a deal it is.
If a grab-bag was avaiable, I would start though. |

| Well, if anyone is interested I contacted Boss. The had the knobs for the HM-2, they had the four-way switch for the DD-2, but they didn't have the potentiometer for the HM-2? Does anyone know what size pot it is, and if it's linear or logarithmic? Also, for all interested parties, the knob was $4.20 and the switch was $5.70. |

Yeah, I was a little surprised they had that switch, but not the pot for the HM-2. I didn't think there would be that much variation in pots from one pedal to the next. The number I called is this one: 323.890.3700 |

They go strictly by part number and asking for something that's been out of production for a long time is usually of no help.
I asked them for a knob for a CE-2. They didn't have any of those. I then asked if they had any for a SD-1 and that wasn't a problem. Obviously it's the same knob but they handle hundreds of Boss and Roland products and probably doesn't know that. Was surpised to hear they had the 4-way switch for the DD-2. Maybe the part number is the same as for the DD-3.
For the HM-2 pot you will probably have to look up the value and see if it's available on any other pedals still in production. I think mouser.com has these 16mm pots as well so that's an alternative.

Roland Australia have a lot of spares. I'm sure they even have CE-2 knobs.
If you like I can find out for you? I've made a good contact there over the last few months. |
