Wanted to post about this, and then I found a topic "Hidden........." so a bit of overlap, but heh what the heck eh?!
Been using the OS2 and DS2 as trebleboosters [okay, not at the same time eh?!!] and they work a treat. Also, both of them do have some compression, like that as well.
Been using them to put treble on BD2 to create very clean, but ever so slight distorted stratsounds. This works great.
Is there anything you use which serves this application as well. Do not feel restricted by Bosspedals only. |

Thanks for the tip. I've been using the SD-1 and SD-2 but wasn't completely satisfied with the result. |

I like to use my DS-1 as a treble booster. I tried the OS-2 (dist only) as a booster, and found there was too much bottom end as well. Good meaty medal that OS-2, but it lacks something... An EQ can give a good treble boost as well, pre or post |

I Use a SD-2 for overdrive sounds and then use a DF-2 as a treble pedal. I works great as a treble booster but not a DISTORTION!!! Wierd. I just hit a nd use it for intro/solo's and feedback jams.

| i like to boost with OD pedals. i used to boost with my OD-1 but i like the tone of it too much for it to be wasted behind another OD/dist. so now i use SD-1 or BD-2 to boost!! |

I have tried to use two SD-1's with following set-up: One slightly distorted and one boosting just treble. Now the result of this only gives you more distortion, as the SD-1 makes the sound quite mid-range.
Using an SD-1 on its own as treblebooster also did not quite cut it. Perferred the results I had with the OS-2 and the DS-2.
Yes I agree that the OS-2 lacks something, but in this application it seems to work quite well.
Also tried the treble-boost trick of the OS-2 into an HM-2, and this works quite well if you set up your HM-2 for an overdrive sound. I know, not many of you would go for overdrive on the HM-2, but it is possible to get those sounds from the pedal, and they sound even more convincing when you use the OS-2 infront of the HM-2.
The doubling up on Overdrives and Distortions is quite new for me, as I have so many options here. It is just something I never really thought would work well, but I start to think in a different way now.
Isn't it great that you discover new tricks all the time whith your bosspedals as you just keep experimenting??. This also makes me feel I have no need for a multi-effector, but alas, this is a different subject altogether. |

Playing around with the OS-2 earlier, and found/remembered there was a lot of treble available, just gotta crank the Tone knob. And there is that minor midhump at C6, not as bad as the SD-1's midhump tho |

| Never really used a treble booster - maybe because i don't play lead. i assume you use it to kick in on a solo? Anyway i've been eying up the OS-2 as my next purchase - i like the idea of overdrive and distortion in one pedal - and mixable. How is this pedal rated generally by folks? |

I've never owned one but I just tried out an OS-2 at Guitar Center and it sounded great. The Mix between OD/dist. is good and you can get a lot of cool sounds out of it. |

Trebleboosters are not just for lead-players [heh what are they really??] An extra bit of treble may be nice to add more sparkle to your clean sound. Adding more treble through use of EQ pedals is different. The OS2 just adds a little something instead of changing your tone too much, like what an EQ pedal would do. |
