The old thread was getting too long to handle so I'm starting a new one while locking the original.

Got a MIJ CE-3 today. It looks very minty and came w/ box. Although there are lots of CE-3s on the bay, I haven't seen that many MIJs with boxes. Or is it just me? Anyway I'm very pleased with it

CE-3 from '81? Sure it's not a CE-2 or a year later?

Got a Keeley modded MT-2 last week. It is indeed quieter and has a bit more gain on tap. Despite the fact that it has a 3 way switch to toggle between his 'triple diode', 'ultra' and stock settings I still dig the 'stock' setting best. It KILLS for thrash rhythms but for leads I still prefer his SEM DS-1 mod.

@ bossarea

You have a point here. The bill says 3/14/1981 but it is also is misspelled CS-3. Now the manual says nov.'82 ....... mmmmmmm

Finally got my silver screw CE-2 I was waiting for for some weeks...

Good condition for a 26 years old pedal... One knob was missing, I replaced it allready.

Silver screw, long dash, S/N 0000 (november 1980).

The box is just like the box of my oldest BF-2 :
*The led is glued
*There is a tiny not used screw socket in the middle of the box (between the 2 in and out jacks)
*There are two holes in the battery compartiment.

It was not working properly. The Depth pot was placed upside down in the enclosure, so the lugs were looking to the led instead of the jacks (if you know what I mean). The result was two lugs shorted to ground (against the enclosure). I put it back in the right place and voila !

The best thing being, I paied it a pitance.

So much for curbing my gas! Since I posted in the old thread on
11/25/06 I have bought:
DD-2
DD-3 - MIJ (early)
RV-3 - I've mentioned the great slapback
LM-2 - don't laugh, I've found it really good for rounding out my Nord Electro keyboard)
EH-2 - Still waiting and it better get here soon
CE-2B (MIT) - Because I had heard good things but then I realised there was a MIJ...
CE-2B - MIJ - Just pushed the button on this one today - looking forward to comparing it with the CE-2 silver screw
TR-2 - I'm a Tremolo freak. It's a bit like trying to relive your first sexual experience. I had an old Goldentone amp as a kid (Aussies will know what I'm talking about)and it did great tremolo. Since I've come back to guitar I've been trying to recreate that tremolo with limited success. Maybe the Goldentone's trem wasn't that good to begin with. Who knows? But I've spend a fortune trying to get something that may or may not have been there in the first place. My impressions of the TR-2? Better than I expected but still not great. I'm wary of the DIY mods, particularly the C4 one because I'm worried about dirt (although the C7 might convince me). I can go on (and on) about tremolos if people are interested.
PH-1 - Last and never least. This is a silver screw and I love it as much as my PH-1R. I keep the resonance down on my PH-1R anyway but I got this for the sake of having a silver screw. What I realised is the resonance wasn't that important, for me anyway. These two, IMHO, are extraordinary pedals.

Excuse me while I wipe a tear from my eye but I do love my phasers and the PH-1 and PH-1R are beautifully green and organic.

PS - I apologise for any spelling mistakes but I have just bought a new computer which has a wide screen and I'm having trouble adapting to it.

PPS - For Dr Bob - I've got a Jimi Hendrix System Fuzz Unit and they do appear to be very rare. After reading your post the other day I've spent a bit of time with the beast and yes, it's good. There's something attractive about the tightness of the sound that I can't quite put my finger on but I can say you you got it cheaper than me -good on you!

Well, yes, it's a good catch ! The PQ-4 is really a great pedal, and usually goes for more.
