Hi guys,
I've just bought a VB-2. What a wonderful pedal. I've heard some samples that a got from another post and the pedal seems to be ok. But I still got some questions.
The pedal is in good shape, but there's no serial number ticket and the rubber and the label are not there anymore.
Besides, the knobs are blue, like the DD-3 knobs.
My questions are: -Is there any possibility that the knobs are original? -Is there any way to know the manufacturing year?
I use an ACA AC Adaptor and when I turn of the pedal, the indicator LED turns off slowly, not sudden like with my other old pedals such as PH-1 and CE-2. Is there anything wrong?
Sorry guys, my english is awful, hope that you can understand my doubts.
Thanks! |

I think of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds when I hear the VB-2.
I wanted one so, sooo bad but am a happy enough with the ME-70s version of the effect. |

Hi gsokol,
I believe the knobs on your VB-2 may not be original. The VB-2 should have the same knobs as the early BF-2 - black with a red indicator, and a little textured on top (like amp tolex almost). You could probably find some BF-2 knobs to put on the VB-2, and you'll be good to go!
edit: I just checked my VB-2 and it does the same slow-dimming of the LED (on both latch and unlatch modes).. I guess it's just part of its grooviness.
Congratz on the VB-2!! Such a weird and fun pedal.. |

Thanks verivorax!
I'm really quiet, if is this the correct use for these word!
Because of the missing rubber and the label, plus the alternate knobs, I was thinking that the slow-dimming (thanks for the correct description...) was a problem, if you know what I mean.
This effect is crazy, I'm having so much fun with it!
But one more thing. I still don't get the rise time knob. What does it exact does?
Thanks!!! |

| I don't know for sure, but I think that Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds it's more like a Tremolo, but I don't know for sure... |

| In Lucy in the Sky..I hear a pitch wavering as well.. but it does have a distinct tremolo vibe. Probably a function of an amp they were using, and therefore tube-bias or optical maybe?? |
