Thanks boss freak,

I have some more information regarding the metal cases, and this not only applies to the CH-1 but to all Bosspedals made from 2002 onwards.

So what is up? The dimensions of the metal cases changed!! I looked again at the cases and in the manual I noticed that the May 2000 CH-1 has a case that measures: 70[W] x 125[D] x 55[H] mm

The June 2002 CH-1 measurements are: 73[W] x 129[D] x 59[H] mm

As mentioned before, the new 2002 measurements apply to ALL Bosspedals made from 2002 onwards. Not sure when it started, do have a DD-5 from Jan. 2002 and this one has still the old measurements, same goes for a PH-3 from Feb.2002, nearest pedal I have to this date is the CH-1 from June 2002, and this one does have the new measurements, from there most of my pedals start from sometime in 2003 up till 2005 and the all have the new measurement readings.

These slight differences in measurements are hard to spot with the naked eye, and even when you use a measuredevice they are hard to notice.

Has anyone who does own the two versions of the CH-1 done any A/B tests yet? Can you hear the differences?

Apart from using the A/B test with the testtone I have had some time to play with them using a guitar, and yes, the differences in their colour of sound do also show up while you play guitar. Great, as they really do sound different. The digital one can sound a little clearer.

I like to use them both with an A/B box, and use one for a slow setting [almost Flanger-like] while I tend to set the other one for a faster setting. Play a few chords through the faster CH-1 then hit the A/B box to switch to the other CH-1 so you get the idea of the music slowing down. This kind of usuage can also be done with a tremolo, or a vibrato or a flanger. A lof of the modulation-effects can do similar things, but they just do it all in their own way...............great stuff.
