Recently got a PS2 that was a bit beaten up, missing half a pot shaft 'n no knob, fixed with a replacement knob and some RTV. Looks like the selector switch was taken out at some point and while in the process of replacing it, they just jammed the foil from the output jack aside. Think it was shorting out some of the contact pins on the back of the selector circuit board. What is the foil for? Looking at Messjoghan's PS2 on pg 17 of the pics, it runs along the side of the output jack. Should I bother to try to put back in place, or is it same to just cut it out and remove it all together. The service notes I got from Laurie (thx again) don't mention anything about this piece of foil.
