Hey Gang,
I have some questions regarding the EH-2. I don't have a long pedal chain at all "none" actually. I am looking to add some clarity to my guitar sound. I have a peavey jsx 212 run thru a jsx 412 cab and for effects i use a tc electronics g major thru the loop. Will this pedal do the job or does it just work good if you have a bunch of pedals run before it?
Thanks- Neaves |

It seems to work better the more pedals you have in front of it... up to a point. But as it adds back in some higher harmonics, you should be able to tell with just a few pedals.
Play with it for about an hour, then take it out of your chain. Its subtle, which means it will be a bit difficult at first to dial-in optimum settings for your chain of effects. But you should be able to tell the difference. Some people swear by the EH-2!
I gave up the opportunity to buy one for like $50. Its probably still under glass at that little shop. |

| If your tone is fairly pristine from guitar to the amplifier, the EH-2 should be even more subtle. It adds harmonics nonetheless & could give you that bite of clarity without going to a full blown BBE Sonic Maximizer or Aphex Aural Exciter. Of course, its a(nother) buffer (impedance-matching amplifier) in your chain... If you're happy with your tone already & don't see yourself getting into too many pedals, the EH-2 will be nothing but an investment in almost vintage Boss gear. |

If i use just the EH-2 between my guitar and Fender tube amp, it adds some nice subtle high frequencies. That being said, as soon as I add a distortion pedal or a "fat" modulation pedal, it swamps the EH-2 subtleties so I usually don't use it.

If you get the chance Neaves maybe try out the LM-2. That might be what you're looking for.
On a related note I've been placing my EH-2 just after my compression, before most of my pedals as suggested in one of the older pocket dictionaries. |

Neaves:
how good of a guitar cable are you using and what sort of pickups are you playing?

Hey Folks Thanks for the responses. :)
Zen- I am using a 20 foot Pro Co Defender Cable. The pickups are Matsumoku's and have been potted in wax and sound great. |
