That makes sense, according to the Boss book, this was issued in a limited edition of only five units by Ishibashi Music. That Mysterious Mr. M fellow also has one.
According to the seller only 10 were sold. This sd-1 dates october 2001 and the bossbook is also from 2001. So maybe they made a few more after the first batch of 5, I don't know.
It looks like crap to me, why make a signature pedal and put it in an original box?, why make a signature pedal and besides some white and black stripes not put Zakk's name on it?
They do show up a little too often to believe that there's only 5 of these. This is the 3rd one to show up on Yahoo the last two years and another one was offered on a Japanese web shop a while ago. Some of them could be the same but I wouldn't be surprised if Ishibashi made 100 of these.
Unless your a collector that just has to have one....personally i think this is a load of b******t..it's a MIT SD-1 with a couple of black and white stripes on it.....crazy money..... i could think of a lot better things to do with nearly $2000.....
The stripes on this one dosn't match the stripes on the one pictured in the BOSS BOOK.. check around the "<- Output" area...
That might suggest a second batch.. or a falsum ???
Cheers
Wouldn't surprise me if someone has made some fakes. It would cost a lot less than $2000 to get a SD-1 and have it professionally repainted. This one has serial number NP19753 (Oct 2001). That's probably about right for these pedals but I would want to compare it with a few others to be sure.
