I don't know if you have heard of these picks yet, but if you have not, I think its about time you have. And if you have, well you might want to get around to checking them out. I have been a longtime Dunlop Tortex user (almost 20 years!), and pretty much thought I had found THE pick for me. However, I recently was given a couple of V-Picks to try out, and these things are pretty cool. They look neat and are probably one of the quietest picks I have used, I mean there will always be some pick chirp at times, but these picks don't seem to do it as loud as others. They seem to be indestructible, which is a good thing, because they are not the cheapest picks around, but they are very high quality picks. I am not sure if I am going to give up my Dunlops just yet, as I have only had the V-picks for a few days, but I thought I'd just mention them in case anyone was wondering about them.

I currently have the medium round and pointed ones, and I like the pointed one, but I just ordered some Shredders from them, and I'll let you all know what I think of them once they arrive...

Hi Jack & Guys

They look interesting.
It would be nice to know if they actually =live up to the hype?

After watching all the promo stuff on their site.
V - must stand for Very Expensive.

He said the Fatty pick was like $24, and a promo set of 4 or 5 picks is at least $15.

Regards Dr. Bob

i have been using fat picks for years Jim Dunlop big stubby 3.0mm for along time. they got a groove in them so it's kinda hard to drop. plus when your hands get sweaty all picks stay in your hand. i think it a waste of money

I would be intrested in how long a set of strings last when using such an unforgiving chunck of plastic

I too use Dunlop Tortex 0.60 (orange) and for $20.00 I can get 60 of them and not werry about loosing them. I always have twenty or thirty in my gig bag and a couple extra on the mic stand.

I just got an image in my mind's eye of a guitarist chasing a $20.00 pick around a poorly lit stage in a club or jumping off the stage onto the dance floor to retreve one while the rest of the band is wondering where the hell guitar player went

I may need to play with these for a little while longer, however, I notice when playing unlugged the notes seem to sound fuller upon being picked, and then when I switch back to the Tortex they sound kind of hollow in comparison. So far, no noticeable difference in string life, and as far as dropping them, these picks sort of seem to stick to you the longer you play, so I don't know how often you'd be dropping one, but then again, I haven't tried these in a live or band situation yet. However, they do sound good, and as I said before, and I agree, they are a bit pricey, thats just why I thought I'd share my experiences with them in case anyone was interested or wondering about these picks.

I'm not using the $20 picks, I was given the medium rounded and pointed from a friend to try out, which are only $4. Then I bought a Shredder since thats more like the Dunlop Tortex Sharps I use, and that one is $5, and the $5 one has to be the one I like So while it is a bit pricey, I see it something you will use every time you play, compared to (as many of us can relate to, especially on this forum) buying some pedal for $40 or more and just using it every once in awhile, just on a couple songs, or just to add to your collection...
