You can also get vibrato from a CH-1 by using the A output with an unused 1/4" plug in the B output:

I'd be willing to bet that this with some tuning via the capacitor mods and you'd at least get close to a VB-2 (though not its complete range of settings).
Planning to do some experimenting with this.

| they stoped making these pedals cause they wern't making them money to begin with. you think they gonna spend more money on something that really didn't make them money to begin with |

i hope they massively reissue all their pedals so i can pick up the ones i've wanted for a bit...because idk, i don't care for collecting...flame me all you want but i think it's kind of pointless...
and to all the guys wanting reissues, won't that just devalue all the ones you already have?... |

| true look at the market. The orginals sell probably more now cause of the reissues the public now know how great thoses pedals were and want the orginals |

Oh bugger, I deleted my reply by accident instead of editing it. Anyway, reissues rock!!! |

Reissues can capture some of the old magic, but there is something intangible and wonderful in an old device that cannot be replicated (at least cheaply enough to make it worthwhile)..
If you want a re-issue, build a clone - you can source better parts than a big company would (make a 14-pin OD-1 for example).
On the other hand, reissues can make the price of originals skyrocket.. great for us collectors! |

I see about 100 of them at a distributor in Bangkok, for 37 cents each. Too bad I don't speak the language.

Laurie, sorry, I tend to be a little ignorant about the details on this stuff, but I did find this:
http://www.1sourcecomponents.com/partinfo/RC3403adb.htm
and I'm sure if I hunt around in my tech's shop he'll have something lying around in a tray (Raytheon or NEC..I'm getting a real replacement skeleton switch from him).. I also thought that, if it's worth it, strip the chip out of some other old Boss pedal which means less to you than the sound of a 14-pin OD-1..
am I way off the mark? I'm not personally into reissues or clones, or even modding, but collecting obsolete or rare parts is not beyond me... |
