Looks like no one cares any longer unless it's a long dash. Goose eggs everywhere...

Hi stahlhart
Do you mean that there a a lot of CE-2's (not long dash) for sale?
And no offense. I really didn't understand what you were trying to say. Regards Dr. Bob

Hi, Bob...
It doesn't look to me as though there's a whole lot of interest left in this pedal -- unless it's just a symptom of overall malaise in the market.
Weren't the MIJs bidding up close to $200 on a regular basis just a short while back? Now it seems as though no one is interested at even half that.
Or mabye it's just that starting bid prices are too high, or no one wants to BIN at more or less street value.
Not that it really matters all that much to me; just an observation. I really love mine, and wouldn't part with it for anything.

I think the financial crisis is affecting a lot of pedal prices.. some really rare stuff is holding market value, while others have lost a little. I think CE-2 will bounce back in value, but maybe people need to refinance their mortgages first..?
I have enough of these powder-blue beasties that they BETTER GO UP IN VALUE!! |

I haven't paid much attention to CE-2 sale prices on feepay lately, but earlier this year $150 wasn't uncommon for any MIJ CE-2. it might just be a function of our recently-turned-crappy economy, where anything but the minty-est of the rarest sells for less.
in addition, the US $ has risen in value vs. other currencies lately, making "export" transactions less palatable, which means fewer international bidders for an item (and fewer bidders means lower prices).... |

Hi Dr. Bob:
I have 2 in my collection proper.. and 2 more on-deck (awaiting next gift event) - only one is SS (missing its real screw, beat to hell), but two others are long-dash, one 9/10 in a box.. If another came up at a good price, I'd probably go for it too.
I do use them, but I find I default to something stereo -DC-2 or 3 when I plug in. In a real jam situation it's more practical I suppose. |

mmm.. a VB-2 will soon grace the blue part of my collection!!
The CE-2 won't reach those high prices.. maybe the gap between a beater/player pedal and an NOS-SS will widen. I think that'll be true for most of the collectible BOSS range, and it's too bad I don't have more minty/boxed pedals!!
A good analogy is a pre-CBS strat. Always worth money, but NOS-style is VASTLY more (and always more outside North America). |
