Hi Guys I wasn't quite sure, if I should Post this into. Off Topic - or here into. Non Boss Gear Discussions.
I found this great reference on another forum, while I was searching for some information, on a small SS amp, that I found at our local S/H dealer.
There are some really old cobweb dusting names in there. And there is some other intermixed info as well in the article. Including some links to more info.
I'm am sure quite a few people will find it well worth reading.

Haven't seen these in years... gary moore used one for a while, used to look a bit strange sitting on top of a marshall cab but it was a loud little mutha.... ....that article also mentions a brand than some people outside of europe might not be familar with called H/H... i used a H/H 1x12 combo for a while there was a companion amp called a bass baby that also sounded very good,i also used another british solid state amp for a while called a 'Sessionette 90' made by a company called ..funny enough ...Session amps..!.. not bad if your looking for something portable but not a patch on my musicman which is solid state pre and tube power amp for sparkley clean tones....Those Lab series amps that were made Moog for gibson...B.B.King has stated in interviews that he uses them a lot and buys them whenever he comes across one on tour, pat metheny another tone monster used an 'Acoustic' combo for years for his tone until he switched to a rack and some yamaha power amps......the one amp i would buy again was the H/H combo..these were very basic with only a bit of reverb but very solid, rugged amps and pretty good sounding for the time..... |
