My favorite is the RV-2 but I got to admit my opinion I might be based on its battered state and long history. Both the RV-3 and RV-5 are good and if you don't already own a delay pedal, the RV-3 is perhaps the best choice as it combines delay and reverb. |

I agree, but I have tested the others too. Cant say that they have something thats the RV-2 would have missed as a reverb. The RV-2 sound avesome as a reverb.

| RV-3 & RV5 but I found my RV-5 a bit harsh. |

I only have an RV-2 So it's the only Boss one I can comment on.
It took me ages to find one out here in Oz. But it was really worth it, for when the amp doesn't have a nice 16 inch spring reverb pan.

RV-2 and RV-5, a good alternative is the Micro Rack RRV-10, great sound like RV-2 but more possibilities. Usually much cheaper than RV-2. Looks good on an amp too |

Consider a non-Boss reverb like a VanAmps Sole-Mate with an authentic Accutronics spring tank inside. It sounds great!

| the RV-2 is great, if you can find it. can't comment on the RV-3 or RV-5, though. |

| Probably the RV-3, but modulate mode on the RV-5 is hard to beat for a dreamscape......... |

| I borrowed an RV-2 for a week recently, and thought it sounded a bit rough - definitely one of those 80s lo-fi digital things. I like a cleaner, more spacious reverb personally, which is why I use racks for that, but if you want a darker sound, it could be just what you need. Can't comment on how it compares to the other RVs though. |
