Boss CE3 AC Adapter help?

I sold a 1980's Japan made Boss CE3 that was working fine with a 9v battery. The buyer tells me he wants to use it in his pedal board and use an ac adapter - but the ac adapter he tried doesn't power up the pedal. Is this likely a problem with the pedal - or could it be a mismatch between ac adapter and pedal??

If anyone can clue me in about ac adapters for vintage Boss pedals I'd appreciate it.

He has to use a daisy chain and put it next to a psa powered pedal, should work fine then.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll pass along this info and let you know if it solves his problem.

If anyone has any more info about compatibility of ac adapters for Boss pedals I'd like to know what to tell someone next time - in case this buyer decides to return the pedal??
