Hi Spatescroll,
Though not a pedal per se, the Boss RX-100 spring reverb is well worth checking out. I picked one up a few weeks ago and it's brilliant.

That's 100% correct, the RV-2 does not have a battery clip.

| RV-2 is my favorite. They did not include a battery clip because this thing would have killed a new battery in a few minutes. |

I owned an RV-5 and currently own an RV-3. I actually prefer the ever so slightly cleaner reverbs on the RV-5. You could get a Hardwire RV-7, it's basically an RV-5 with a reverse and a different spring setting. There's an internal switch too for setting the reverb trails or something.
Incidentally, has anyone used the big rack unit, the RV-1000? |

| I so wanted to try the RV-3 with its delay but have never even seen one. I thought the RV-5 was pretty harsh with the tone knob anywhere above 9:00. Is the RV-3 any good? |

Neither the Rv3 or 5 have any hiss problems, (Well, the RV-5 has it slightly, but only with the tone turned right up) I A/B tested it against a Holy Grail Plus, and the RV-5 won.
The RV-3 is excellent, though the reverb isn't quite as clean. Worth getting hold off if you can find one though, definitely. |

....my main gripe w/ the RV-3 (and this goes for almost all reverb pedals)is the freakin millisec. drop-out in sound when you engage the footswitch...because of that it has set in the box since 1997...useless I say!!!!!!! |
