I think most MIJ pedals does not have the metal plate that has tone, level, etc. The names are printed on the body itself.

Well, this is most likely not a good indicator as many Japan made units will have a sticker with the adjustment types printed on them ( VB-2 / DC-3 / DC-2 / OD-2 / DF-2, etc. ). Taiwan models will also have the controls printed right on the pedal with no sticker ( FZ-3 / OC-2 / TR-2 / BD-2 - smokin' little pedal!, etc. ).
