Just bought myself a Keeley DS-1 Ultra to check it out. I was a little curious about this one since I once had a Keeley Seeing Eye mod DS-1, and ended up selling that one in favor of my DS-1 MIJ.
I must say that the Ultra is sonically superior to the Seeing Eye mod at least to my ears, and boasts both a fatter Ultra mode as well as the Seeing Eye mode. The Seeing Eye mode do sound better in the DS-1 Ultra. On the Keeley website it also says in the specs that the Ultra model is using higher grade components, so that might be the answer.
I briefly compared the DS-1 Ultra to my old trusted DS-1 MIJ and the Ultra has better note definition, cleans up the sound much better and is really responsive to picking. One can go from a clean sound to a nice distortion just by altering the picking. The pedal is also very quiet, compared to my DS-1 MIJ.
So if youre looking for a good DS-1 mod, try this baby out. 
The bottom line...Im not selling this one!
(And I also got an extra set of original Boss knobs included  ) |

Sunburst, did you order it from USA?
I�ve heard that someone sells Keeley modded pedals in Sweden but don�t know who.

No, I got it locally from an ad. I got this one much cheaper than if I had purchased it from USA, so I decided to give it a try. The pedal itself was also in mint condition. The original owner had bought it from USA a few months ago.

I just got myself a Stinkfoot modded DS-1 and I don�t know how it compares to Keeleys.
The Stinkfoot DS-1 is completely different from the stock DS-1, all the icepick-in-your-ear is gone, dynamics and transparency are the key words here, little less gain and more volume (much more!). It�s hard to describe in words the sonically uplift but I really like what Stinkfoots mod do to the sound, it�s a little less distortion and a little more overdrive. Raw and filthy, in a very good way.
A perfect pedal for rock, bluerock and heavy metal type Jimmy Page.
Highly recommended!

I am sure both are very good modifications of DS-1. I really have to get a DS-1 with Stinkfoot mod soon so I can compare the two.
