I am thinking about modding my Vox 847 Wah. Any suggestions on with who or with what. Basically I would like to get true bypass and maybe update the conductor which I read so much about.
Anyone been down the road of Vox mods and want to share insight?

Hi BossHog & Guys Here are some links that you might find useful.
I modded both my Wah pedals. I have a Crybaby and Crybaby (Jimi Hendrix version)
I just did the true-bypass mod for the JH version and it make a huge difference.
I would recommend a couple fo the mods for other standard Crybabys though. Especially the one that "smoothes" the transition in tone when rocking the pedal. That one works great. Makes the thing much easier to control IMO.
Well I'll see how it goes with other mods. Wah mods can get pricey. I definetly noticed the difference between my Vox Wah and Crybaby in terms of sweep. Actually more sweep can throw a player off.
If you're handy with a soldering iron and can do the mods yourself, they'll only cost you a few pennies. And they really are pretty easy ones to do. (hey... even I managed 'em )
What was the difference between teh VOX and Crybaby? I've never played a VOX before...
I had two crybabies and teh Vox is just better. The consensus on the Internet is that the Vox is a better pedal. It seems to be clear and less muddy than the Crybaby. I just never really found a crybaby that worked for me...
For some cool Vox wah examples (besides the obvious hendrix) listen to the solo of Metallica's Enter Sandman, in fact all the wah work on the black album was done with an old 60's vox wah, which was rumored to have belonged to Jimi Hendrix. If this is true or not, it sure sounds great.
