Thanx alot Controlfreak
Of all my pedals (excl. fuzz) those are my two "Go-To" pedlas. I really, really like what they do with my BJr.
Saying that, i can NOT WAIT to test the "new" Fender/Boss units. I will probably end up buying both anyways ! Then i'll have to get a PedalTrain, or simmilar.
The Bassman box for that ermmm, Bassman tones, and the DeLuxe Reverb box, to get me "closer" to a more realistic White Stripes kinda tone !!!
OK, so they use Twin Revebs, but i believe a DeLuxe Reverb tone, when cranked, is closer to that of a Twin Reverb than what a BJr. can get - right ? |

my very modest collection...
Behringer TU100 (hey it does the job well) --> Boss CS-3 (MIJ) --> Boss DS-1 (MIJ) --> Boss OD-2 (MIJ) --> Ibanez TS-7 (acts as a boost) --> Boss DC-3 --> DigiTech DigiDelay
Amp = Behringer GM108 (very under-rated i must say) Guitars = Squire Affinity Telecaster (waiting to put in Fender Japan PUPs) & Epiphone SG Special fitted Gibsons 490T and 490R...
am looking for a phaser pedal to "complete" the entire chain... pls feel to comment...

Hi digsy. What is your opinion of the CS-3? Be honest...

i think that it's one of those pedals that even when it's on, people don't really notice a difference... the CS-3 is on only when i use the DS-1... IMHO, it does make my DS-1 sound better or any distortion/overdrive pedals for that matter... saying that, when i'm playing clean or using modulation pedals... it does alter the sound alittle in a bad way... i've heard comments saying that it's pretty noisy but i have yet to experience that...
i came up with a thread regarding the difference between MIJ CS-3s and MIT CS-3s...

| I use a CS-3 in my setup as well, and I have to admit that it is really noisy. I havent thought about replacing it though. How is the CS-2 or CS-1? (whoever has tried it) |

I have a MIJ CS-2 that I find very warm and I like quite a bit.
I will say that in my main rig tho I use an Analog Man Bi-CompROSSor (his version of the Ross Compressor & Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer and it kicks ass.
For me I can hear a very big difference. |

Since I took some photos for the FDR thread, I thought I would add one here, too...here's my live set-up (and all the pedals I own, with the exception of one home-made Build Your Own Clone delay and an old Crybaby...I still have some effects in my mom's basement on the East Coast which I might pick up while visiting this Easter...in fact, I think I still have my old PN-2 in that box of old effects...!)
Anyway, here you'll see BD-2, CE-3, RV-3, DS-1, FDR-1, RC-2 and an '04 Custom Shop Louisiana-born calico named Rosie. She's all stock but I lost the box and the manuals she came with...

How do you make that black and white pedal sit still while you gig?
I also have a '04 Custom Shop Toronto-born labrador, and she never sits still long enough to get through a set
nice FDR-1 BTW |

Hi guys I'm way too scared to ask, where you plug the guitar into, on that back & white pedal.
And I'll bet, it makes strange screeching feed-back noises, if you were to try.

I'd like to see some shots of this Toronto Labrador...I guess he would be called a TL-1...? Every time we have a gig, Rosie comes out and looks at my wife and me with this puzzled expression which seems to say, Haven't you guys moved all that stuff before? You're moving the drums again? Her favorite pieces of gear are three plastic egg shakers which I have near my laptop. Every night she tries to knock them off the table onto the head of our other cat...so maybe she's really a drummer and not a guitar player? Whenever she sees a tambourine, she also likes to pounce on it. |

Hi shortpunks Sounds more like a percussionist to me. Listened to your album about 20 times. Thanks again. Is it ok to make a copy for another friend of mine, he's a great musician & song writer: And luckily we work together, & spend some of each day talking about our musical experiments.
Are you using the FDR-1 on the new album?
Regards Dr. Bob |
