Hi there! I got a OD-1 - wich I love, but also a OD-3 with drive set to minimum to produce just a little more breakup or od-drive together with the OD-1. Works just fine cause the OD-3 is quite bassy - wich I like. I like my guitarsound fat and steady (without getting into heavy metal). But yesterday I bought a modded SD-1 - wich was modded in the way that it had more bass then the original. Perfect! That was in my opinion the weakness of the SD-1. I really like my modded SD-1 and now is my question is the modded (or original too) SD-1 a little bit like same same to the OD-1 or OD-3? What are these tree pedals "sweet spots"? Best for rythm work, solos, or what else you have in mind! Its quite the same but in a way different, so it wold be fun the read what you people think. Cheers! |

Sorry about the crappy pics, my camera is not too good at close ups. Can someone see whats changed anyway? I think that it is the four brown old caps, but dont know.

On a related topic... what's a good mod for the SD-1? Never really liked mine. I'm guessing it's really designed to go with transistor amps to make them sound like tube amps and it doesn't do much productive in front of a tube amp? It's always sounded a little "cheap" to my ear with my JCM600.

Those four brown caps at the bottom are part of the switching. Looks like the changes were to C2 for more bass and C5 for the tone.
Theres lots of good mods for the SD1 OD1 conversion, SD808, Langraff, Fulltone with Flat mids... |
