Hi verivorax - it's a custom shop Relic, with the same spec as their current 60s Time Machine except that mine has gold hardware. Think they call the pickguard colour 'mint'? Relics are great - you can abuse them and they just get more mojo
It is a great guitar but the set-up was all wrong for me - with strats, I believe that there's a point where they are in perfect balance and they just open up and sound as they should - so, it's in for a pro set-up at the moment and I'm exepecting it back soon - missing it...
PS: forgot to say - your Avatar was freaking me out - thought it was some sort of weird x-ray or something - cool that it's the first nanosecond of a nuke...would never have guessed that. |

The Doc: it's sweet.. is that sonic blue? I do love the relics.. I played a '60 relic which was phenomenal, and killed the other relic there, a '65. I'm sure, as you said, with the right setup, it would chime. Funny enough, I was told Tracii Guns bought the '65 right off the wall.
My oldish strat is nice, but I have to refret it to make it play like it should! I think an important part of fender ownership is tolerance of a lil' fun 25.5" buzz..
anyway, avatars, yes.

verivorax; think it's called 'Lake Placid Blue' but I'm not sure - all I know is that the rest of my band say it shows off my feminine side - but whaddatheyknow - bassists, drummerists, keyboardists,,,,
I played a red relic last week (with red headstock - ugh...didn't like that at all)and it sounded the dogs too - but, I've got my eye on either another Les Paul (custom shop SG shape) or a 335 at the mo' - so I won't be picking that one up. Darn this credit crunch!

Lake Placid Blue has a bit of holoflake in it, usually.. and looked darker to my eye.. but these avatars are but a tiny vestige of a full image (part of their fun, too)..
I love the 335s.. the "Block Inlay" model (not the big block 63 custom, but the small block inlay) has a nice upgraded fingerboard and BurstBucker 1/2 p'ups (but those are just a $250 upgrade anyway).
I digress. I need a gibson. |

ah... think you are right verivorax - just checked an e-mail I got from Fender about it - 'Daphne' blue maybe? ...don't tell my band though - they'll think it's even more like my feminine side! |

We should cease this hijacking of the thread.. but you can tell your bandmates that Daphne is named for the killer Django piece.. |
