I traded a few pedals I wasn't using for a couple that I will use! I traded a Behringer flanger and octave, and a Grunge pedal I had lying around for these:

A near mint Super Chorus and a nicely worn in Heavy metal pedal. I've been wanting a HM-2 for a while and finally got one! And the Super Chorus is a nice pedal to have around as well. Here's the rest of my Boss family:

I have been thinking about an HM-2 as well. How do you like it? |

Well, I must admit sheepishly that I have not run it through it's paces yet. I have heard one before, a friend of mine owned one a long time ago and he let me use it for a while. It was a pretty cool pedal IMO. Not quite as wild as an MT-2, but definitely "heavy". I've always liked the fact that they actually named it the "Heavy Metal" pedal, and the fact that one was used by Entombed to get their early signature sound.

Hi sylvesterlowery
Try running the CH-1 in stereo setup. Even if it's into a small practice amp.
I never really had a high opinion of the CH-1 until I ran it in stereo. My opinion has now changed forever.
BTW, do you know if it's the Analog or the later digital version?
Regards Dr. Bob |

Yeah, I didn't like the Grunge pedal much (cheap pawnshop buy anyway), and I already have a BF-2 for flanging and an awesome Arion octave, so I didn't use the Behringer stuff either. Better to have two that I will use than a few I won't. |

I will give the stereo setup a shot. I did that a few times with a DOD Stereo Phaser that I have and it sounded killer! I'm sure the CH-1 will be the same way. I checked the serial with the info on Bossarea, and it seems to be the analog version. |

is the HM2 an MIT or MIJ?
i found the jap ones to have more of a sweeter tone. I am using mine (2 MIT and 1 MIJ!) with a bass - not at the same time though! |

Dr. Bob,
How does a CH-1 compare to a CE-5 sound wise? I have a CE-5 and wonder if the CH-1 sounds better? I know "better" is a relative term.... |

If you remember i used to used to do that until i got a CE-2.... ..i really like the CH-1 in stereo too... as it doesn't seem to have a 'dry' output like other chorus pedals... i got the impression the effect seems to modulate between the two maybe why it sounds so good in stereo to me.....i'm thinking of making up a small board out of some of my spare boss pedals for rehearsing or travelling and the CH-1 will be on it at the end as my stereo splitter.... |

I like my MIT's also. I couldn't pick my MIT DS-1 out in a comparison with my 3 MIJ's, 2 SS's and an 85 BS. They all sound great!!! |
