I read in one thread here about a fellow asking about using an AC-2 for his bass. Well, time for another dumb newB question:
Can one use the Boss Bass-specific pedals for guitar? If not, why not (just the frequencies it targets?). If so, anybody tried it - what happens?

I use a GEB-7 on guitar and it works great. They sell for less than GE-7 too. Check out the specs they aren't much different. I haven't tried any of the others tho.

Most of the ones Iīve tested sounds very good with guitar, ODB-3 for one donīt sound very good with guitar. But the Choruses, Flangers and the Parmetric EQ sounds good enough for me.

I was going to mention this one as well.

The specs don't tell you anything, but the pedal does sound very different to the GE7, it does have more compression and sounds very good indeed. Why? It is all still a mystery!! [and let's keep it like that]

The GEB changes different frequencies than the GE, only sharing the 400 and 800 bandwidth

My CE-2b, BF-2b and GE-7b sound equally good on guitar.
Likewise the CS-3 is my most used bass pedal.

As always it's just a matter of try before you die

I was thinking about trying the SYB-3 or 5. Might get some cool funk tones out of it I don't have one though so I'm not sure about this.

I have tried SYB-3 with guitar a number of times and it sure is a lot of fun. And it sounds good too, until you reaches about the 12th fret of the B and high E strings. But I can live with that, it IS a bass pedal.

I think the ODB-3 does sound good on guitar if used with light gain. But useing it as a clean boost is what I really like doing, you can get SOOOOO MUUUCHHH bass from your guitar. With it set to clean and the gain maxed out you get a slight break up sound, very useful for reggae.
