I imagine a Step Gear instead. I posted a sketch of a new SG-2 an some graphs about it in the What should Boss create next thread. Check it if you want.
Well, a fast gear would take a few seconds to kick in, it would sample what you were playing, and play it back really fast, then sample again etc etc etc. But yeah your idea was good.
