Just curious to see if any1 has ever tried plugging in their acoustic guitar into their effects chain.. maybe we're not talking about distortion pedals here but modulation and delay.. anyone care to share??

I've used analog delay with acoustic guitar before; works very well. Chorus also works well if you don't overuse it.

Hi digsy
The following pedals work fine with acoustic's
Chorus CE-2,3 - Flanger BF-2 - Phaser PH-1,r - Delay DD-2,3,5,6

The GE-7 works, but you will have to experiment.
Compression also works very well.

when I play acoustic slide & I want to rip it up a bit (with a band)
I will sometimes use an overdrive
SD-1 - OS-2 - TubeScreamer TS10
YES... I don't have an OD-1 (Yet), anyone have a spare to donate?
It just depends how down & dirty you want the slide to sound.

I have seen people use the EH-2 &/or the DC-2

When starting out with your experiment,s, remember that most times:
LESS is MORE...
Start out simple, then add to your pedal list.
Double delays (one short & one longer) also work very well.

Were you just looking for idea's, or do you have a specific application in mind?

Regards Dr. Bob

PS I would like to hear what an acoustic sounds like through a Boss AC-2,3

Hi StratoSphere
It's unlikely that I will, as I do not own a AC-2,3

I have a Pandora PX4D that has AC-x type emulators, but I never thought of even trying to plug the Fender acoustic into it.

I am not a fan of acoustic modelers, but I will admit that i haven't heard what a Boss AC-X can do.

I do know that I don't like the pandora PX4D patches that do acoustic modeling.
Not that they are not usable, it's just that if I want an acoustic sounding guitar, I tend to use a real one.

Thanks for the warning StratoSphere

Are the acoustic patches in a Boss GT-3 like the AC-2,3 ????
I have a GT-3, that I pull out & toy with now & again...

Y'know, I enjoy running my acoustic through my plain old DD-3. And my RC-20XL of course...

Occasionally run a 12-string though a CH-1.
Primarily mono but have hooked up a 2nd amp once or twice.
Works nicely for me if the effect is subtle.

I'm with Dr Bob, you can run quite a few pedals through your accoustic. Just need to be careful with your accoustic amp if you already have active pickups it can sometimes push your amp too hard. I've done that a few times and thought I was going to smoke my amp!

when i'm doin acoustic gigs i strip my pedal board down to DD-3 for a reverby thing, EH-2 to add sparkle to the guitar and the CE-2.

have to say the EH-2 really shines (pardon the pun) on acoustic stuff. it's adds a real brilliance to the sound. check it our for yereselves!!
