| I think it actually is... if you consider that is was only made for nine months. So I guess, since it was the BOSS pedal with the fewest number of units made (I think that's correct), it would be the rarest. According to the BOSS Book, anyway. |

I guess there is a big difference between rare meaning 'not many units built' and rare meaning 'this is highly sought after and they get sold really quick'.
I don't think its an unfair statement to make. I've seem must worse advertising text around. |

| I don't think it really has the fewest number of units made. Shortest production run, yes. Fewest units, probably not. Some of the oldest pedals, like the SP-1, probably only had a few thousand units made in total. Maybe Bossarea can give us some production numbers or estimates for the PW-2? |

I listed some approximate production numbers based on serial numbers in this thread: http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2221
The older pedals with ink stamped numbers are probably rarer than the ones in the list but unfortunately we don't have any ways to find out totals for those. |

| Thanks Bossarea. So there were approximately 17000 PW-2s made. Some other pedals from the same period (PQ-4, PQ-3B, FZ-3) even had slightly lower production estimates. There is not really any way of us knowing how many of the early models were produced. I would guess something like the SP-1 had well under 10000 made in total. Probably even under 5000. This was the early days of Boss so it is not like they would have been doing any big production runs, especially not for something like the SP-1. Then take into account how many of those were lost or destroyed over the years and now you have a few thousand in circulation. |

Yeah I agree Big Boss Man. I reckon the actual production numbers and numbers actually remaining out there would determine the rarity.
That's why I questioned it in my previous post. |

Nice data bossarea!
I guess some rare pedals are easier to find than others. Its all about money in the end. If lots of people want it then it will be worth more! |
