All I ever got from a pawnshop was my HC-2. Here in France, they got the pedals at horrible prices, like 50€ for a DS-1... |

Well, I'm getting there! I've listed these under this topic as I've only been collecting them for a couple of months now - so I guess they're all "fairly newly acquired" I've now got the following:
MIT: DS-1 (with box/manual) - all mint PW-2 (with box/manual) - all mint PW-2 (with manual) - nearly mint DD-3 (with box/manual) - all mint DF-2 (with box/manual) - pedal mint/box v.g.c MT-2 - mint
MIJ: MZ-2 (with box/manual) - v.g.c CE-2 (s.s. and long "-") - very used! but lovely DM-2 (with box/manual) - ALL MINT - except for one tiny chip, that's it! BF-2 (with box/manual) - all mint HF-2 (with box/manual) - all mint OD-2 (with box/manual) - mint pedal, v.g.c. box CS-2 (with box/manual) - all mint CS-1 (ss - clear switch - momentary LED) - v.g.c except rubber grommet PS-2 - mint except for one tiny chip TU-12 (with box/manual) - all mint
Of course, still after an SP-1, VB-2, PH-1 and SG-1 (among others!). They will come in time when my wife stops nagging me about all these purchases!!!
Loving collecting though! And this site is great! I'll post some pics once my camera is back from warranty service
Happy stomping
Editted to add crappy mobile phone pic! Other pedals are Dunlop Crybaby JH-1, Rocktek Flanger, E-H Small Stone and a T.C. Jauernig "Gristle King" (OD and boost)

Thanks DeFrag! It's a board my wife bought me for Christmas last year - made by CnB. It's ok, a fairly simple design. It came with two effects loops and a set of DC out jacks (across the top) but the DC circuit is terribly noisy and the effects loops are pretty crappy too - not good components. I came across the true-bypass strip project that Dirk (great guy!) published on his site (http://www.singlecoil.com/tb-strip/tbstrip.html) and thought... I could have a go at this! I originally bought some T series Hammond enclosures but, on closer inspection of my board, realised that I could incorporate the true-bypass strip into my actual board - the aluminium frame is a decent size. So I started drilling, soldering etc. Used top quality components (Switchcraft jacks, mil-spec silver/teflon coated wire etc etc) Now I have 4 true-bypass loops along the front, with a master-bypass switch (to bypass all loops for straight through to amp) and a tuner out/mute switch for silent tuning. It's amazing and I can now run many pedals without losing too much tone. I usually have it setup with ODs on one loop, distortions on another, flangers/choruses/pitch shifter on another and the delays on the last. This way I'm never running my signal through too many pedals at once. Works great! But I now want to build my own board that's a fair bit bigger - to (a) be able to actually fit more pedals on there and (b) have more loops, say 8 or 10, so I can further isolate the pedals for even less tone-sucking. The Gristle King and Wah are both true-bypass already so they sit directly before any of the loops along with a compressor. I'm pretty happy with it and am more than willing to share my experiences with anyone who's interested! Just drop me an email sometime.
Edited to add: Sorry Bossarea, this should probably go somewhere else - sorry for getting off-topic! |

That's a great collection you've got there Stratman, especially if you've only been collecting for a few months! It's addictive isn't it!
Don't worry about the wife nagging you - I get it all the time. I just call it an investment! |

I got my SD-1, and I'm waiting for HR-2, PQ-4, OS-2, and maybe a DS-1.
Who said "addictive" ?? |

Just got a HR-2.
It produces a sligthly overdriven sound when I play loud, with bridge pickup (HB). Does anyone have allready noticed that ? Could mine be something like flawed ?
Appart from this, I was told the HR-2 is great, but I must say I'm kinda dissapointed. The delay is clearly audible, even with 3ths, and I miss the fact that we can't cut the direct sound.
But with voices at the same pitch, it produces a nice chorus effect. And it's a blue Boss...
Mine is from November 1994, the site saying December 1994 as start date... Plus, it's unit 1003... Does that mean it's the 1003th HR-2 which came out of the Boss production line ? I gues I have one of the oldest HR-2 around, if so... |

Eheh, I did better !!
Just got a mint PQ-4, from February 1991 (start date on the site : march 1991), unit n° 762.
BTW, I'm surprised... I allways thought the PQ-4 was a white pedal, in fact it's grey... |

Hi Guys About 5 days ago I won another CE-2 It's 2:15am, I just arrived home from a late gig, to find that the CE-2 had be delivered sometime earlier in the day.
Wide Font ... C under r Silver Screw Black Switch Black Label Use a coin text on the Black Label MIJ
Ink Pad Serial 0000
I think that's about Nov 80 I know it's not one of the earliest 1979 ones, but I just loved the ink pad serial of 0000
It's a few good paint chips & scratches on the sides, but the top is in cosmetically good condition, though as with all older pedals the rubber has gone hard.
Still I'm glad I bought it.
It's just a little too late to take it for a test drive...
Hey Bossarea, do you or anyone else know how many other 0000 pedals there might be? |

I played my new CE-2 in the previous post, for about 3 hours. It sounds great. I also have a Green Label MIJ that's a bit newer.
I did an A-B comparison of the two pedals and found that, the older SS MIJ black label, that I just won, the SS black label speed control, did not have the same amount of range, as on the green lable. And it also had a bit less range on the Depth control;...
I think there were a few circuit changes on the CE-2's Can any of you guys confirm my theory & findings?
Hype or no hype, or is that Hippy? It still had the trade-mark sound of an old CE-2

| I just picked up a spare NS-2 for $40 yesterday. Its used, but barely, as it still has a Roland 9volt battery inside. According to the decoder, August 2004. I was just getting some strings at the local music store yesterday, and they had some used pedals by the register... |
