I have another thread where I was rambling about getting one of these. Now I actually have one, I wanted to share what I've learned so far...
Mine was made in 2007. It comes with a 3PDT stomp switch, but it is not wired up for true bypass - the input is always connected, and the output is switchable between effected signal and the input signal. This uses ony one pole of the switch.
Very simple to wire it up to true bypass - reroute the input wire to another pole on the switch so that when the pedal is "off" (bypass), the input is disconnected from the pedal electronics.
No LED either. So I drilled a small hole and mounted a 3mm white one. Used the last pole of the switch to turn it on and off (15k resistor in series with the LED).

The other thing I noticed (and has been posted in other forums) is that the level dropped slightly when the effect was turned on. There is a negative feedback resistor between pins 6 and 7 of the 4558 opamp that was 5k6 in my pedal. Upping that a little raises the gain. A little fiddleing gave me an 8k2 and 100k in parallel (7k7). No discernable drop now.
Playing it in mono is nice, but not really what this thing is about... Hooking it into two amps (effected into one, dry into the other) makes it come alive.
All in all I'm very impressed, and the mods were easy. |

Any chance of internal pics? I've never been able to get the knobs off any of my EHX stuff. Are they glued on, or am I being weak?
The DEM certainly sounds good to me. Here's a clip with a Nord 2X dry, then Mistressed:

Knobs are kind of "sticky". Takes a bit of firm-yet-careful touch, but they do come off.
Not sure about internal pics - I forgot to take them when it was apart and now it's back together...

Yep, a POG... but boy are they expensive! A broken one went for well over $100 on ebay yesterday. |

How about crackin' that baby open for some pics?
I've been interested in the HOG & Micro Synth for quite a while. |
