Since a couple of years I own a Fender Lead II and like it very much, this is very cheap vintage Fenders, but for how long I found this site, very good, about Lead IIs:

| I seem to remember that around 1980, the price of a Lead I or II was about half that of a strat. Quality-wise I wasn't able to spot any differences so I really wanted one at the time. By the time I was able to afford one they've been out of production for more than 10 years so I went a different route and haven't played a Fender Lead since 1983. |

Yes Goran, I have one too, bought it last Summer, found that site at the same time too.
Mine does have an added extra pick-up, so does have three. The sound and feel of them is very VERY close to Strats, althought some people claim they are not.
The body is a little smaller than a Strat. Mine does have that finish-error as well. Funny how older Fenders used to have those issues. |

It used to be called finish issues and you got a discount. Now it's called relic'ed and you pay extra. |

| I have one as well. I dig it a lot. The phase switch is cool. I think it is differnt than a strat in a lot of ways. It has unique pickups. I have one of the rosewood board models, which I hear are not as commom. I have had it for going on 15 years now. That being said, the nut is crap, and broke a year ago. I need to get it fixed. Happens a lot on those guitars. |
