I finally got round to sorting out a myspace music page and I thought you might want to give it a listen. I put a couple of songs up. They're mostly experiments with what you can do with a Boss BR-600 rather than in songwriting.
I recorded both songs entirely with the BR-600 using only presets and my own patches, and I mastered it all on the boss recorder. Guitars used were my PRS-SE tremonti on both tracks and my pink hohner strat copy on the second track. I've got a generic rock track in the works as well but I'm having a lot of trouble programming the drum machine to sound quite like what I want it to, I'll get round to it.
Anyway, have a listen, feel free to add me and let me know what you think!
p.s. yes, I am addicted to tremolo. It's pretty much always on in my effects chain.
Both tracks sound like a lot of looping going on. Try it using volume swells with long delays and you have the basics of Frippertronics. Even the end of Chocolate Ribbons sounds like it might go into some early 80's Crimson stuff.
Play that intro/main/guitar part from Chocolate Ribbons on a bass and it becomes very much like Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus.

Hi PaulH, there's actually no looping going on but it is pretty repetitive. However, the crimson comparison is a pretty nice compliment, even though Robert Fripp could write better music than me in his sleep
And as for Bauhaus, that's a really good spot! Even the tempo is pretty close...I salute your musical ear
