yep..i read the books years ago..thought the movies were pretty good as well, there was an earlier version,i think it was a mini series that was probably more true to the books but i still like the film versions.....i have to admit to being a fan of steven seagals early stuff like 'hard to kill' and 'marked for death' etc...
some movies off the top of my head.....not in any particular order
1..Taxi Driver
2..Cinema Paradiso
3..To live and die in L.A.
4..The Godfather series
5..Bird
6..Thunderball,goldfinger,Dr No..etc
7.. Most John Wayne movies
8.. Clint Eastwood....especially the spaghetti westerns
9..most of the biographical movies about music people or loosely based about real people like 'crossroads' or the buddy holly story,la bamba, etc....
10..i also like a lot of world cinema especially the stuff with sub titles some of these films are really good movies with interesting soundtracks musically...
nice one laurie..i was going to start this later but i had to do some gardening.... Mrs F was on my case to cut back some trees, just snuck in for a coffee break.... .... |

I like a lot of older B-movies. In no particular order, these are some of my favourites:
Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry The Party The Mad Max movies The Italian Job (the original 1969 version) All 4 Tremors movies (and the shortlived series) Lola Rennt Used Cars The Net Moonrunners (upon which the Dukes of Hazzard series was based later) Cherry 2000 Cliffhanger The adventures of Robin Hood (1938 version with Errol Flynn, great stuff) A small town in texas The Gendarmes series
I really enjoyed that new Batman film, The dark knight, that was a lot better then it's predecessor Batman begins.
I dig up a lot of obscure stuff using this site:
http://www.imdb.com/
@Jack, Repo Man is great, except for that cheesy, anticlimax outro where they're flying off in that UFO

I think that's the shot when the overhead microphone briefly pops down into the picture too. |

The first Highlander was great..they should of left it alone after that......i also like a lot of the old B&W movies from the 40's and 50's.....a legacy of been allowed to stay up late on a saturday night after my mam amd dad used to come in with chips after the pub and watch the late movies on BBC 2 usually something like 'The Maltese Falcon' or 'Key Largo' with Bogart and Bacall..... ..another one i'm a fan of is 'The Naked City' with that great irish actor Barry Fitzgerald.... check this one out if you see it on TV....... also anything by the Marx Bros..my Dad loved them and he thought Chaplin was a genius especially in 'The Great Dictator'..... |

my personal favorite had a theme song written by Frankie Laine:
"He rode a blazing saddle He wore a shining star His job to offer battle to bad men near and far"
yes, Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles", starring the incomparable Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, and Harvey Korman.
and "This is Spinal Tap" might be a close second....

| Any Mel Brooks movie and especially Blazing Saddles. That is probably my all time favorite movie. I like all the Clint Eastwood westerns too. I also am a fan of zombie movies: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days/Weeks Later. |
