I've had an LS-2 for many years now, and the switching has become a little unpredictable: when in A->B->bypass mode, it occasionally misses out the A loop and goes straight to B. All other modes seem fine.
It's intermittent but irritating, and i want to fix it. I heard compact pedal switches were replaceable, and i'm wondering if all compacts use the same style mechanical switch (with the switch modes just being electronic switching), if indeed it is likely to be the physical switch itself causing the problem.
Any ideas?
ps - I'm a little worried, because it's the only Boss i've ever owned (plenty) that has developed any kind of fault - Is my Faith in every Boss pedal's cockroach-like ability to survive a nuclear holocaust about to be shaken....? |

MINE DOES THAT TOO! sometimes it will completely skip a loop and it will go from A to Bypass, totally leaving out B Loop!
i think the only reason i didnt fix it is because there are SIX!!!! patches going in and out of it.  |

Its a pain in the ass to neatly reconfigure once my LS-2 is "in the board" with its 6 connections routing everywhere. I actually have to use a  on the A-send with another straight cord into its return. I just can't fit 3 right-angled connectors into a side, they get in the way of each other & actually make the pedal NOT sit flat.
When I first mixed to chains (A+B) it sounded weird, mixed.. yet still separate. Like on A I'd have mellow pedals & B was for metal-crunch. With the mix set right, the resulting sound just didn't seem additive. Each channel was very distinctly heard as if the waveforms didn't combine. It was unexpected to say the least.
I wouldn't give up my LS-2 for all the money on this here table.. its so versatile. My dream is to cascade 20 nested loops with 5 or 6 LS-2s & just dance around on top of them creating all kinds of strange combinations.  |

i also use the LS2 for switching the top row of pedals in an out of my chain..i use it in bypass for normal sound....loop A for the top row and loop B as a send to my tu12..when i want to use B i just manually turn the selector to B for silent tuning so i'm switching between bypass and A only during a gig etc...once or twice before i noticed it wasn't switching in and out properly so i just opened the latch and sprayed some electricial switch cleaner into the body of the switch and it hasn't been a problem since and that was a good while ago.... ...........
to be honest i have five right angle jacks going into the LS2 and i have no problems with it sitting on my 'board ..i think it has a lot to do with the type of jacks used as the inputs are so close together..... |

I'll try this first.
BTW, if you put a compressor in loop A, nothing in loop B, and set it to A+B (parallel), you get a quasi-Slow Gear style autoswell effect (actually, you get the intitial attack of the note, then it cuts out and slowly fades back in) - Try it! |
