Hi there!
I'm currently using a Peavey Supreme Transtube head, but my source of overdrive and distortion are a couple of BOSS pedals. Would you recommend putting my chorus and digital delay on the FX-loop of the amp to minimize noise, and signal loss?
Right now I'm using the CS3, DS1, SD1 and OD3 to the amp's input, and the CH1 and DD3 in the FX loop.
Or you'd rather just connect everything to the input?

Thanks for your responses,

MidiBuddy

Yes, me too. I don't notice any difference in sound loss or noise if I put the pedals in front of the amp. If I run the amp's preamp hard the chorus will sound better in the loop but I rarely do.

Same here. I have used the effects loop on my amp, but in general I just found the best sounding pedalboard arrangement and set the amp for the cleanest possible sound and rely on pedals for all of the rest without the loop.

The only thing that is worth the effort of using the FX-loop, in my opinion, is a reverb.
It sounds a lot better in this position and this is were a built-in reverb usually is placed too.
You get a cleaner reverb this way. You dont want the reverb-tails to be distorted by the pre-amp, not even a bit.

i use my effect loop for most of my pedals. i have 2 effect loops on my amp so i have the effect loop affecting the clean channel only, that way when i switch from distortion back to clean i can have any effects set up for clean, just on the clean.
