For the past three months, YouTube has been blocked by order of the Turkish courts. Sure, I could use mirror sites for viewing, but could never sign in or upload, which is why I really need YouTube (no one watches videos on myspace). So, as quick as I could, I uploaded this cover of Gang of Four's Armalite Rifle, not knowing when the powers that be here decide to shut it down again. Overly sensitive bunch of jackasses if you ask me. Enjoy, it might be a while before the next one.

Thats bad bro'...governments shouldn't ban something like youtube.... don't want to make this too politicial, but i can't see how turkeys application to join the E.U. is going to work if your government keeps pulling stunts like this.....

Completely agree with you, though it is not "my government." Being a Canadian expat, watching this kind of behaviour disturbs me greatly.

bigtime.... censorship of this kind is bad..youtube for the most part,is i think a good thing for people to be able to sell their artistic ideas and talents to a wider audience who in the more tradational record company/big studio mighten get a look in ...it would be a pity if Turkey who i think most europeans see as one of the more liberal countries in the region were to go 'big brother' like some of the others........

"Your government"(and mine) the one that is presently in power in Canada is begining to disturb me greatly, as well, I am sad to say.

Strange..... i think from what i've seen on the news and in the papers that there is a bit of a struggle with the more liberal parts of the government and the hardliners at the moment in turkey, things like youtube are probably getting caught up in middle..........

It is the courts, and hence the hardliners, who are behind the block - still trying to show who's the boss (sorry for the pun)

Why I need YouTube:
Uploaded Armalite Rifle on Myspace June 30 - since then, 15 plays
Uploaded Armalite Rifle on YouTube July 22 - since then, 74 plays

& yeah, it is still blocked

but you only posted the link to the youtube video here.... so usually we all go and watch the you tube video instead of the myspace one which increases it's ... erm... playtime? rotation? well you know what I mean.

I see what you mean, except that this is typical - more people go to YouTube that Myspace for videos
+ I bulletined the hell out of Armalite on Myspace, & that's all I got
