starr, youre right about the time consumption, but if you take your time and dont cut corners/cheap out on materials, you will have a remarkable finish. i was absolutely clueless and scoured the net for resources. it was my first refinish and the guitar now looks and feels like it just came from the factory. like glass
and yes pics are coming. i already have the pics on the camera. but i have to wait until the 20th for the camera to computer adaptor thingy. |

That Before Photo makes me cringe. You did a great job. I personally probably would have done a black headstock logo, but the white works for high contrast.
I'm currently working on two refinishing projects, a Squier Jagmaster, and a Fender Standard Stratocaster, that I'm turning into this:
http://www.edromanguitars.com/guitar/fender/montereystrat_fen.htm
Minus the beautiful birdseye maple neck, that would just cost too much for this project. And I'm not going to include that silly sticker on it, that Fender did when they made the replicas.
The Jagmaster I'm just refinishing in Daphne Blue, when I got it in, it was that awful Silver Sparkle color and had a couple chips in the poly that someone colored in with nail polish.
Anyway don't expect photos of these for a long time, it's by no means painting weather over here right now.
Stratosphere: what method of stripping did you use? just sanding?
To combat the poly I used Aircraft Remover, and that took forever, I was stripping the Jagmaster for a month. I figure with the strat I'd like to try a heat gun.

| first i tried chemical stripper. i left it on for 3 days, and it took off ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. so i busted out sandpaper and did it ALL by hand. with blisters to show for it. |
