I need some advice on speaker cables, head to cab, jack-jack.

What am I looking for ?

usually under 300w you can use even 18gauge, unshielded. Some people insist on thick-ass 12-gauge for guitar, but I believe it's really only necessary with much higher wattages (ie: from an SVT).

I suppose the same brand-affiliations apply as with patch cables.. you can buy a Monster and spend 6x but maybe find no difference in quality/sound/throughput..

I generally just make my own with 14 or 12 gauge wire and European made Neutrik connectors (I don't trust the Chinese ones for high power).

If you want high-fidelity sound, you can't stop with great interconnects; good quality speaker cable is just as important.

18-gauge is really the recommended limit but the thicker the better, as illustrated below:

Remember, looking at some of those figures, that most guitarists need only 1-4 feet of cable for a full-stack rig.
