| Has Boss ever made an artist model of a compact pedal? What got me thinking about this is the Vox Satchurator pedal. I bought one recently and absolutely love it. Probably my favorite distortion pedal ever, including over a few MIJ DS-1s I've had. But truth be told, the Satchurator sounds very similar to a vintage DS-1, just a little bit more refined and with an extra "More" button. In fact, I use the the same settings on it that I did with my DS-1s. Prior to the Satchurator, Joe used vintage DS-1s as his main distortion on stage. And they weren't there for pretty - he really used them, along with several other Boss pedals (DD-2, DD-3, CE-2, CH-1, CS-3, BF-2, SD-1, etc.). He's always been an avid Boss compact pedal user. Boss would have been the perfect company to build his Satchurator pedal, but instead it was Vox. I'm just wondering if Boss ever did build an artist pedal for someone. |

| no they have never done anything like that. As i have been seeing it they are too stubborn to do stuff like that. They wont even do reissues of the pedals from the past |

Quite right too. A reissue is exactly that... a reissue. Due to changes in availability of chips etc it's impossible to make a copy of an older pedal.
I'd rather they spend their time bringing out new pedals or improving current pedals, rather than copying an old pedal. If they want a modern day copy of an old Boss pedal them, they'll use COSM anyway. |

A very few SD-1 pedals were produced with the target/bullseye graphic associated with Zakk Wylde (sp.?) so I guess that would qualify as an artist tribute pedal.
So if you see one in your local Goodwill or Pawn shop, scoop it up...
For details, see the "Boss Book". |

Yeah Disco Stu, I heard they only made 5 of those Zakk pedals!!! But Roland doesn't believe in the past. There's really no money in it, I mean look at the finacial situation the Gibson Guitar Corp. is in. |
