Hi FatsoForgotso Congrats. Is it the older long chip DD-2 upgraded design, of one of the new square SMT chips?

| Its MIJ I just don't know how to tell the difference between the power jacks. If I remember correctly I know thats how you determine if its the DD-2 copy or actual upgraded one. |

Hi Take the base plate off. Look at the back of the PCB. If you see a 2 LONG rows, of parallel solder joints, from left to right, roughly in the center section of the board. Then it's the OLD one.
I think Stinkfoot, had a link on his web site - showing the differences. Just found it... http://www.stinkfoot.se/andreas/diy/articles/DD3.htm Thanks Andreas ----- andreas@stinkfoot.se

| Am I really missing out on much with my DD-6? There are just some pedals that people call the best & will never let go.. |

| in my initial test of the DD-3 and DD-6, they both shared essential features in a little delay stop box. IE 50ms 200ms and 800ms and the hold features. the DD-6 had those and longer delays and other functions I found no need for. I just opted to spend the money on a collectable DD-3 than a DD-6 which I wouldn't use half of. |

On the topic of the DD-3, here's a question from a delay philistine (me)...
Background: I looked (and looked and looked) at a DD-3 but couldn't justify the nearly $200 price tag here in Canada for a new one. I ended up with one of the plastic Behringer DD100 delays for less than $50. It works. It sounds "OK".
Question: Does anyone have experience with both of these and can comment on whether there is enough difference (improvement) for me to toss the Behringer pedal and go for a DD-3 now I have some spare cash?
Note that I'm not worried about durability - all the switching is done by an external true-bypass loop so the pedal is never stomped.
Regards, Laurie.

| I've both a DD-3 & DD-6. Personally I like my DD-6 better. For one it has more options; especially including the stereo inputs. For two it is more transparent to my ears. My DD-3 affects my tone ever so slightly. |

Hi lauries2
regarding your DD-3 and DD100 question anything specific?
I have a DD-2 and the DD100, I obtained the DD100 in a pile of dead & or not working, pedals on an Evilbay auction, last year.. it had a flat battery So bloody embarrassing hey?
The DD100 had at least 2.3 or 2.6 seconds of delay as well, but It's RoHS compliant, most here know what I think of RoHS Lead Free PCB's
The DD-2-2 do not have a hold function. The DD-2-3 use better A to D and D to A converters & DSP processor.
Despite these facts, the DD100 still sounds ok, for the money.

I use two DD-3'S all the time gigging..IMHO the DD-3 is one of the best sounding, most robust delays on the market,i can't ever see mine leaving my 'board... if i came across a boss DM2/3 i would add it on for slapback but leave my other two set for short and long delays.....even then wouldn't be coming off anytime soon..... |

Hi FatsoForgotso Still really good sounding delays, & still really collectable. I would like one for my collection.

Well, collectable or not I still love my new DD-3, which I scored at a bargain price of 60 euros on Ebay. It covers all my delay/echo needs without the sonic byproducts my old analog Arion has. |
