thanks for all the suggestions...thats one of the first things i tried it didn't make much difference.... analogman the guy who make and mods pedals had a faq about this subject basically saying he has had lots of pedals sent in ..ie.tubescreamers od2's ds1's etc to be fixed only to find that there was nothing wrong with them..!! he recommends not using a guitar with in his words"crazy high output pickups" the more research i do the more i come to the conclusion that either i go straight to the amp or pull the active circuit out...on another note i got a cool sound out of my ds1 on a gig last night with my old strat ..tone at 9 o'clock.. level nearly full... dist at just under halfway..i have my od2 after as a booster and they did a great job...... |

just an update...i happened to be surfing the seymour duncan website and there was a question on the same topic in the faq's..the response was to either do away with the dist/overdrive pedal or install a voltage divider..??? i have done a little more investigating and as far as i can see it means putting some resistors in the preamp in the guitar to lower the hotter output but this is getting a little beyond my scope of expertise..ie where to put them..?? and will it still give me the fatter 'gibson' like tone witout the volume spike...? |

Yngwie is faster than tone! |

| i was joking too but, all guitars have there speciality so you can't say there good or bad(unless there bad quality). It realy just is your own taste of looks and sound. |

Franzoni:
I think I have found you a cheap solution, I e-mailed the GFS folks and think that this would be the best option for you:
http://store.guitarfetish.com/cstmidbocidr.html
it is cheap, and it does a +12db boost. And there is a setting that just returns your guitar to passive whenever you like.
Also you didn't get the Fender Official Clapton Kit right? (the one they sell for $85 on Ebay)
You got some knock off one from like Acme Guitar Parts or something like that right?
I myself am considering getting this one:
http://store.guitarfetish.com/midbocictoat.html
from GFS, just because it'll have the push-pull switch, so when it's down I'm back to my stock passive strat. When it's up it does up to a +30db boost, yikes!
The GuitarFetish people are very nice and I'm sure they could address any questions you might have. Unless you don't feel like taking your guitar apart again, and I hear ya on that, but I dont think messing with pedals is going to fix your problem.
Just trying to get back on topic. Guys..... |
