Hey folks, a few days ago i was in a guitar store, looking through the sales bin, and i come across a Pw 2, the old label on it said 300, so i asked them what they wanted for it and got it for 100 bucks! its brand new apart from a scratch so small you cant see it, it must of been display model cause it had dust on it haha, but i got it with its box as well. It was made december 1996 , the 1st year they were made so im happy!, now does anyone else have one of these? im trying to find some good settings for it, its a bit tricky

i couldn't get a tone i liked out of it with humbuckers, but it's easier to manage with single coils as it has some rather mega low end boosting going on.
i had to almost cut all of the bass when i was using my humbucker guitars. |

Yeah ive found its hard with my esp with emg 81s in it, to get a good tone out of it, i was using it with my mt2 metal zone and it gives it a bit of a boost that i use on my own songs in the style of kyuss/queens of the stone age, i like it though i would post some pictures but im not at home at the moment, i will soon though, if anyone really cares haha |

Great find. The PW-2 sold really bad and it is still possible to find the odd NOS pedal lurking in stores. Don't know why it sold so badly cause in my opinion it's not a bad dist pedal. |

$100 seems a little high to me, although they are pretty rare and may have collection value in the future. i see it as a Big Muff Pi in a Boss box really. it can get some cool sounds with that big fuzzy low end tone but i personally find it hard to incorporate into my style of playing. i compare its sound to Siamese Dream |

I really tried to like mine, but I ended up selling it. There are just too many better dirtboxes around.
But in 30 years or so, who knows, it may be the BOSS pedal for collecors. |

Ive had mine some years and sometimes I like it, sometimes not. It is sounding a bit like Big Muff, as mentioned, but the Muff is way better as a thick sustaining fuzz. With the drive at low settings and the volume high I can get a quite smooth bluesy overdrive, but there are other pedals doing that better.... |

| I really liked it combined with another dirt pedal, so try an OD before or after, I've used a OD-1 in front and it was a great sound! |

I'd love to hear this pedal!
I'm just thinking, I saw one on eBay last year for 50 buy it now and I didn't pick it up then. |
