Well, on the surface, it's funny -- but there's a more insidious side to this: that being that one of these guys is lying and misrepresenting the pedal that they have up for sale. And to those of you here who collect, things like the condition of the paint on the case, whether or not all of the original knobs are there, did someone put Velcro on the bottom plate, etc. -- all of that stuff matters to a lot of the buyers here, and when a photo of an item is used that's not a manufacturer's catalog photo, you're assuming that it's a photo of the actual item you're bidding on.
And both of the sellers were outright arseholes about it, and clearly didn't care whether or not the winner of their auctions was going to be happy with what they got or not.
It's an ugly world out there. Be careful.

Yup, and again, that's why whent it comes to eBay, you always need to ask before bidding ... is the pic the item, any dents, any repairs, is the bottom lable in tact/color, what's the serial number etc etc.
I always get a few guys stealing my photos and my descriptions. I report them to eBay and they get nixed. Take your own picture and write your own story.
Yah, and don't lie on the listing. |
