Let me see if I explain this the right way, but it appears there is a massive 'usability' issue with the ME70 (and maybe all ME line pedals)
What I wanted to do was create a patch in U1 that had lets say:
Boost OD-1 Chorus Delay setting of 500ms
I create this patch more or less and save it to U1. I can then recall U1 and have all those effects on. I would prefer to switch to manual mode so that I can turn individual effects off and on at will; for example - switch to U1 and then go manual so that I can turn my boost off and on for solos.
The massive problem lies in this: If I create a massive library of sounds, the ME70 DOES NOT retain the settings when you switch to manual mode. So I can't quickly roll up to U7 patch, switch to manual, and then turn what I saved off and on; when you switch to manual mode, the ME70 just defaults to whatever the knobs are set at on top of the effects unit.
I find this to be a MASSIVE FAIL in the design/usability of this unit. The only way to do what it SHOULD do, is to call up the preset, press the tiny little edit button (which is impossible with your feet on stage) and then go from there.
I can't believe boss hasn't implement this ability on this unit. It has totally turned me off and I am returning it immediately.
I am posting here because I hope someone can prove me wrong, or provide a solution. |

Hi xmacvicar
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
I'm not familiar with the ME-70, but I belive there are a few members here that have one, or have used one.
Have you contacted your Roland-Boss dealer to see if they know of this issue? All dealers undergo training on these products, & are very up to date, on these types of issues, they may even be aware of a workaround.
There may even be a Firmware update, I know he GT-8-10 can have firmware updates loaded into them.

I own a ME-50B and the problem that your talking about is normal, at least with the ME-50B. I don't know about the ME-70 but I guess it will be the same. Sorry if I disappointed you, but that's the way it is.
