Well, this is like saying FUCK in a church...
Of the ones I have I must say LM-2, just bought it tried it and put it on the shelf (for good).
If I had GE-6 I suppose that would be the one, even if its highly collectible. |

It's difficult to say. The LM-2 is good for bass guitar and the GE-6 would be perfectly alright if there wasn't a GE-7.
The NS-2 does everything the PSM-5 does plus it has a noise killer that is better than the NF-1. Still the PSM-5 and NF-1 aren't useless.
So I would say...
CH-1, I just don't like the sound of that chorus. |

| Hard to choose a bad apple in the Boss bunch, but I guess if I *had* to choose one, it would be one of the mega-over-the-top-metal-destructo-doom-laden distortions like the MD2. I don't think it's necessary to have that much gain, etc. - at least for the kind of music I play. If I did play music where that sort of crunch was called for, I'd probably have an amp that could do it for me like a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier or the like. |

| wow, a useless boss pedal? hope i don't go to hell for mentioning the pedal. I have to say that it's the PQ-4. my friend had it and it's not versatile as the GE-7 or even GE-6... but they're rare today, if i could get hold of one, it will be only be displayed in my home |

cimed8085, I sure don't want this forum to escalate into a World Wrestling Federation-esque kind of dialogue (let's leave that to the pros), but the PQ-4 is my 2nd favorite guitar pedal (after the SD-1). it can turn any guitar into one with active electronics (and make a bridge pickup sound like a neck pickup, even if it has only one pickup), and allow one to pre-set their EQ settings for lead guitar work. I don't have a GE-7 (yet), so I'm not knocking your choice, but please give the PQ-4 a chance if you see one.
as for my least favorite/most useless Boss pedal, of the 27 different ones that I now have, it might be the BF-3. my Taiwan-made BF-2 sounds so much better; only the utility of its bass guitar input keeps my BF-3 from being sold. (maybe I just need to spend more time with its 'mode' knob.)

| I have found the MD-2 to be compleatly useless, i had one, played with it for about a month, couldn't find a good setting with it and sold it. it was way too muddy and the distortion was way too thick. |

"Useless" is a pretty subjective term... For me, I'd have to say the SP-1 Spectrum - I had one back in the mid '80s, and could never really figure out what it was meant to do. It didn't really strike me as a pedal I could use - although it has to be said that at the time I frequently used a Rockman, so my preferences might have been slightly off...

the md-2 is an awesome pedal! i am a former touring musician and have played in a lot of the metal clubs for years. i use the md-2 a lot in "one" of my boss pedalboards. my mt-2 metal zone is modded by my friend robert keeley. awesome to say the least.
my vote goes for the ch-1 as well. the chorus ensemble is an awesome chorus. |

The only problem there is the difference in price - I would guess the MD-2 is targeted at young'ns like myself with little cash but the desire to make lots of noise ;) |

It all depends on what tuning your using. If your in standard tuning or drop-D tuning then the MD-2 is an awesome pedal. But if you tune down to D, or Drop C then it's too much, no clarity, the MT-2 is much better for that kind of style of over the top distortion. I've found that using a good overdrive works best with lower tunings. The DS-1 is a really good distortion for guitars tuned down to B (or Bass guitars). |

I popped up with something similar to this in another thread
But I'll have to say the OC-2. It might have a use but so far I cant find it.
Its only good for bringing a grin to your face for the first 15 minutes of ownership and the....n
Its a door stop. A metallic brown door stop. |

I love my CH-1, so I'm going to disagree with some of you.
Having to choose one...I'd go AW-2. Too shrill, no guts. But I still use it. Worst of a great bunch... |
